Join us for the ultimate chocolate paring, giving you the chance to sample some of our most celebrated products, like the Zinfandel Noble Late Harvest the 10 year Potstill Brandy and our decadent Before and After Aperitif.

 

Cellar master Rolf Zeitvogel and artisan chocolatiers Jane and Graham Mc Carthy created a sweet taste sensation pairing five Blaauwklippen products with carefully selected chocolates to create the ultimate taste indulgence.

 

Price:  R75 per person, bookings advisable for groups of six or more.

 

 

Battle of the blends

BBC logo 29th year

Congratulations to the  four finalists for the 29th Annual Blaauwklippen Blending Competition, they are:

The WWIWWEW club, Three Sheets to the Wind, The Bacchanalian Society all from Gauteng and Babalost wine club from the Western Cape.

The winner will be announced on Friday 7 September at an exclusive lunch at Blaauwklippen for media and invited guests.

As always, the winning blend will be bottled under the Blaauwklippen Barouche label and recognition will be given to the successful wine club on the back label.  The winning club and three finalists also win other great prizes, including wine, return airfares and accommodation for the weekend of the prize giving, and glassware from Vitria.

A warm Blaauwklippen welcome to our newly appointed Executive Chef, Chris Maree.

Chris knew from a very young age that creating a stir in the kitchen was his ultimate calling and he has now been cooking up a storm for the past 12 years. Before joining Blaauwklippen Chris worked at the prestigious Oyster Box Hotel as Executive Sous Chef as well as at Bushmanskloof as Executive Chef. Chris is an active member of the La Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs an international gastronomic society founded in Paris in 1950. To relax Chris spends time with family and friends and his beloved dogs Rocky & Pepper. We cannot wait to taste what he has in store for us.

 

 

Market News

August is Women’s Month, meaning we will have a couple of special days dedicated to women.  We will host a fun walk in aid of a local women’s safe house, L’Abrie Du Dieu, on the 5th of August.  The 4.3km walk will start at 11h00 and the entry fee is R20, all proceeds going to the charity. If it rains the walk will be postponed until the 12th of August.

Join us for a day filled with the taste of kiwifruits on the 12th of August. Expect some delicious combinations with this delicious seasonal fruit.

We will have another barking mad fun filled day on the 19th at our monthly Vineyard Doggy Walk. Bring your furry friends along and come support the Helderberg Animal Welfare Society. The fee is R20 per person and dog or R10 per person if you would like to do the walk, but do not own a dog.

On our final market day of August we will be hosting a tea festival. Come join us for a taste of different varietals of tea at the market.
