Newsletter November 2012

The Year So Far
I love the feeling of excitement as the festive season approaches and I hope that you will be spending some time with us here at Blaauwklippen. Whether it is enjoying High Tea, relaxing after work at our Tapas Sundowners Lounge, Lunch, Wine Tasting or visiting the Sunday market!

We clinched 4 medals at the 2012 China Wine & Spirits Awards, for the Shiraz 2007, White Zinfandel 2010, Barouche Magnum 2009 and the showstopper that walked away with gold glory, the Before & After Apéritif.

The competition was judged by a hundred China based judges and we are grateful for the international recognition.

New Release, Please!
We are proud to introduce the latest vintage of our Blaauwklippen Vineyard Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2010. The wine is available from the Wine Centre at R84 per bottle. Even though the wine can be enjoyed now, it will enhance with cellaring and has an ageing potential of up to 8 years.

Divine wine in Durban
The popular Wine Show takes place in Durban between Friday 23rd and Sunday 25th November at the Durban Exhibition Centre. Many of the Cape’s best wineries will be exhibiting and we hope that we can meet up with our Durban Blaauwklippen friends during the course of the show.

Please visit our stall and taste our latest releases. Ticket prices start at R95 per person and R160 will buy you a weekend pass.

From the Market
We have some exciting events and themes taking place with the market in November.

Fun Walk

Join us on the 4th November for a Fun Walk through the beautiful vineyards in aid of the Stellenbosch Youth Outreach Charity. The walk will be 4.8km long and the entry fee is R20 per person.

Peaches, peaches everywhere!

11th November will be a “peach of a day” at the market as our monthly seasonal ingredient is peaches. You can expect some delicious and exotic combinations with this delectable fruit.

Helderberg Wine Festival Weekend

The weekend of the 17th & 18th of November will be Helderberg Wine Festival Weekend, this means that we will have a Saturday and Sunday market. You are in for a real treat on Saturday the 17th as we have two popular musicians lined up to entertain us. Blues artist, Gerald Clark, will kick the day off with some laid back blues followed by Jesse Jordan from 13h00 – 15h00. On both days we will also host an Antique Fair as well as the popular KwiltsinnieBos quilt exhibition. Entry is free. Do not forget to join us for free tastings on selected wines at the Coffee Roastery and our Tasting Room.

Vineyard Doggy Walk

18th November will be a great day for the entire family (furry ones included) to join us at the market as we are hosting the monthly Vineyard Doggy Walk in aid of the Helderberg Animal Welfare Society.

Art in the Vineyards

On the 25th November we host an “Art in the Vineyards” day. This involves local artists exhibiting their work on the beautiful setting of the market for you to admire and purchase.
