Stellenbosch Garden Week

For the first annual Stellenbosch Garden Week in October, we have collaborated with Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen to share some of the JAN experience - which includes a Michelin-star restaurant in Nice and a creative culinary studio in Cape Town - with you. 


In addition, the team at Hamm & Uys Restaurant will also present a unique Floral Feast-to-the-Table to enjoy during the course of the week.

Finding Eden

A Conversation with Jan Hendrik van der Westhuizen hosted by Ben-Carl Havemann 

In this casual tête à tête, we explore the gardens in Jan Hendrik’s life; from Le Jardin de JAN in Nice, his Michelin-star restaurant’s new potager garden and picnic spot, to his new culinary playground in the Kalahari and how the journey is documented in JAN the Journal.

Jan’s Botanical Banquet

 A 7-course dinner prepared by JAN INNOVATION STUDIO hosted by BLOMBOY

The JAN experience spans a Michelin-star restaurant in Nice, a creative culinary studio in Cape Town, luxury airline and game reserve cuisine, and most recently, the world-class Kalahari delights of Klein JAN. Now for the first time, the JAN experience comes to the Stellenbosch Winelands, where Jan Hendrik attended culinary school and refined his taste for exemplary wine. The menu will comprise elements from his award-winning dining establishments in Nice and the Kalahari. Join Jan Hendrik at a table created by BLOMBOY, inspired and decorated by Blaauwklippen Estate’s beautiful gardens and rare finds.
