We are proud to launch the 2018 vintage of a classic to the Blaauwklippen family; the Zinfandel Blanc de Noir (White Zinfandel).
Zinfandel is a very special wine to our farm, as it is what we are so well-known for. For this particular beauty, the grapes were handpicked by our dedicated farm workers and volunteers and transported to the cellar for processing. From there, whole bunch pressing of the grapes ensured good yields of premium quality juice, all orchestrated by our talented and driven winemaker, Narina Cloete. Afterwards, the juice was left to settle for 48 hours and racked to stainless steel tanks for fermentation. This was to ensure a perfect alcoholic fermentation, which was complete after 2-3 weeks. An additional step to this wine-making process included extended lees contact of 3 months, and regular stirring of the lees after fermentation, to ensure that the wine has a lush palate texture that Blaauwklippen is known to boast in their Zinfandel.
This refreshing white wine, with flavourful aromas of blush peach and lemon-lavender notes, combine with hints of orange blossom and cookies-&-cream, is a local favourite and is welcomed in any season. The Zinfandel Blanc de Noir has a plush, rich mineral texture on the palate and is complimented by fresh zesty acidity and ends in a lingering aromatic finish.

Not a problem, it is also the perfect accompaniment to summer picnics – although this being Cape Town, summer comes about at least 4 times during the winter.
