As December draws near, Blaauwklippen Wine Estate transforms into a world of festivities, offering an enchanting Christmas market in Stellenbosch. From the 16th to the 18th and the 19th to the 21st of December 2025, families and wine enthusiasts from across South Africa will have a chance to enjoy the magic of one of the best festive markets in the Western Cape. It is an event that successfully blends the rich heritage of the 333-year-old Blaauwklippen Wine Estate with a joyful seasonal celebration under the Stellenbosch summer sky.
Visitors can expect the sights, sounds, and smells of the season to come alive as they wander through this historic wine farm, with its scenic vineyards and old-world charm creating the perfect backdrop for a festive outing.
Blaauwklippen’s Twilight market is famed for its magical festive atmosphere, where century-old wild fig trees adorned with fairy lights create an idyllic storybook setting for families to celebrate the season. Visitors can explore an enticing array of stalls featuring artisanal gifts, handmade crafts, and tasty local delicacies. Live music performances add a joyful and relaxed rhythm to the event, further elevating the holiday spirit.
This unique shopping experience offers something for everyone, from handcrafted jewellery and farm-fresh foods to premium wines, such as Blaauwklippen’s newly launched Zinfandel Rosé. Festivities come alive during December at Blaauwklippen. In addition to our beloved Christmas market in Stellenbosch, we will also host an enchanting Carols by Candlelight evening on the 7th of December, a heartwarming celebration led by live musical performances by acclaimed musicians and complemented by the breathtaking natural setting. Families can relax under the stars by the warm glow of lanterns, creating lasting holiday memories.
Adding to the month’s appeal is the Blaauwklippen Wednesday Summer Evening Run, taking place every second Wednesday (on the 3rd and 17th of December), allowing our active visitors to keep up the pace while enjoying the estate’s scenic beauty.
A highlight of Blaauwklippen’s festive season is the reopening of the Jonkerhuis and Manor House, beautiful historic buildings on the estate, severely damaged by fire in 2024 and restored and renewed in October 2025. These architectural masterpieces, adorned with Cape Dutch character, add cultural depth to the Blaauwklippen experience, providing visitors with elegant luxury accommodation on a historic wine estate.
